Las cosas fueron bien durante un tiempo. Pero los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os no han sido como ella imaginaba.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Todo empez\u00f3 con la pandemia. James, el marido de Laina, trabajaba en un restaurante desde hac\u00eda 14 a\u00f1os. Aunque el restaurante pudo seguir abierto, el due\u00f1o tuvo que reducirle el horario. Una vez que consiguieron un techo, la familia tuvo que centrarse en c\u00f3mo conseguir comida.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"py-4\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Dos ni\u00f1os abrazados al aire libre\" class=\"img-fluid\" src=\"https:\/\/www.feedthechildren.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/a-grandmothers-hope-pic-one.jpg\"><\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>\"No recib\u00eda cupones de alimentos\", dijo Laina. \"Est\u00e1bamos un c\u00e9ntimo por encima del requisito para recibir cupones de alimentos\".&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Laina y su familia pidieron ayuda a un socio comunitario local de Feed the Children.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\"Consegu\u00ed comida. Fue incre\u00edble\".&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Recibi\u00f3 algo m\u00e1s que comida. La familia tambi\u00e9n recibi\u00f3 art\u00edculos de limpieza, como jab\u00f3n para la ropa, y de higiene, como champ\u00fa y desodorante. Tambi\u00e9n recibieron libros para los ni\u00f1os, algo muy importante para Leanna, la nieta de Laina, de 7 a\u00f1os.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\"Me gusta leer para hacer mi mejor trabajo y poder ir a la universidad\", dice Leanna.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>La idea de que su nieta vaya a la universidad enorgullece a Laina.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\"Acaba de decir que va a ir a la universidad. Nunca ha dicho lo que va a hacer. Le dije: 'Qu\u00e9date con esa idea.
