Todo ello mejora su calidad de vida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El principal objetivo del programa VSL de Feed the Children es reforzar el h\u00e1bito fundamental de ahorrar dinero para mejorar la resistencia econ\u00f3mica de las familias. La participaci\u00f3n en los grupos de VSL tambi\u00e9n proporciona a sus miembros capacitaci\u00f3n econ\u00f3mica, especialmente a las mujeres que no suelen gestionar las finanzas del hogar. Las participantes adquieren conocimientos b\u00e1sicos de contabilidad y mejoran su capacidad de organizaci\u00f3n y su disciplina. Tambi\u00e9n aprenden a crear y gestionar presupuestos familiares. Ella pudo pedir un peque\u00f1o pr\u00e9stamo para comprar semillas de jud\u00edas verdes y establecer un huerto. Hoy cosecha suficientes jud\u00edas verdes para venderlas en su comunidad. No s\u00f3lo ha devuelto el pr\u00e9stamo al grupo VSL, sino que adem\u00e1s genera ingresos suficientes para pagar los gastos de su hogar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zelifa Dimba, miembro del grupo de VSL de Chisomo, dijo que su familia se encontraba en una situaci\u00f3n de extrema pobreza e inseguridad alimentaria durante muchos a\u00f1os antes de que ella se uniera a este grupo. \"El motivo de unirme a este grupo fue mejorar mi vida\", afirma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zelifa dijo que los ingresos del grupo VSL le permitieron comprar fertilizante para su campo de ma\u00edz. Dice que su vida ha mejorado mucho desde que se uni\u00f3 al grupo VSL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\"Tengo comida suficiente para mi familia y este a\u00f1o espero cosechar no menos de 40 sacos de ma\u00edz\", dijo. \"Pude comprar tierra y ladrillos y actualmente estoy construyendo una casa\", dijo. \"\u00a1Se acab\u00f3 el tiempo en que dorm\u00edamos junto a las serpientes! Daba mucho miedo dormir en este refugio de hierba\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\"No s\u00f3lo eso, sino que tambi\u00e9n he comprado cabras y pollos.
